At Companiions, trust and safety are the cornerstones of our platform. We understand that when you entrust us with your needs and preferences, it's imperative that you have complete confidence in our ability to deliver exceptional service while prioritising your safety.

Our commitment to trust and safety goes beyond words – it's ingrained in every aspect of our operations. From rigorous vetting processes for our companions to giving you the tools in-app to connect with companions before booking, we've taken extensive measures to create an environment where you can feel secure and at ease.

You can read more about our trust and safety pillars below and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at support@companiions.com

Our Trust and Safety Pillars

ID Verification: Before going live, all companions are required to send in their Passport/ID documents which are reviewed by our partner SumSub.

Online Background Check: Prior to becoming active on our platform, each companion undergoes a comprehensive online background check, conducted in collaboration with our trusted partner, SumSub. This meticulous screening process involves cross-referencing the companion's name against a wide range of criminal watchlists and conducting an adverse media check, which scans millions of published articles for any indications of negative behaviour or news associated with the individual. It is only after successfully meeting all these stringent criteria that companions advance to the second phase of our thorough vetting process.

DBS Verification: Companions offering childcare, eldercare and mental health services are required to submit a valid DBS certification which is checked and approved by the vetting team. The status of a companion's DBS verification is prominently displayed on their profile for your peace of mind. While a DBS certificate is not obligatory for Everyday Assistance companions, a significant number of them voluntarily possess one. For added reassurance, you have the option to use our filtering tools to exclusively view companions who have undergone DBS verification.

Interview: All companions are interviewed as part of our rigorous vetting process to understand the services they are providing, experience and expertise they have. We conduct interviews with companions virtually.

References: To uphold the highest standards of trust and safety, companions offering Childcare and Eldercare services are mandated to submit a minimum of two references for thorough review by our vetting team before their profiles can be published. While we employ rigorous measures to authenticate the references provided, please note that we may not conduct in-person interviews with all referees.

Insurance: At companiions, we provide each companion with £1 million in public liability insurance as a standard offering for all the visits they conduct through our platform. This insurance safeguards companions and you in the event of accidental injury or damage they may inadvertently cause to a third party during their visits.

In-App Messaging: We highly encourage you to utilise our in-app messaging service prior to booking a companion. Feel free to ask any questions you may have or seek additional information about the companion and their experience. This communication tool is designed to help you make informed and comfortable choices when selecting a companion for your needs.

Video Call: Take advantage of our in-app video calling tool, which enables you to connect with your chosen companion before your visit. We strongly recommend using this service before your visit to establish a rapport and ensure that all your questions are thoroughly addressed. This valuable feature enhances your overall experience and fosters confidence in your choice of companion.

Ratings and Reviews: As you explore a companion's profile within the app, you have the opportunity to peruse reviews left by fellow employees who have previously engaged in their services. This valuable resource provides you with insights into the companion's past visits, offering a deeper understanding of their performance and interactions with other users.
