Ensuring the safety, security, and trust of both visit organisers and companions remains our utmost priority. That's why we offer each companion £1 million in public liability insurance coverage for all visits facilitated through the companiions app. This insurance protects companions against inadvertent injuries or damages they may cause to a third party while visiting an organiser's residence. Please note that trips outside the client’s home are not covered.

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding the insurance coverage:

Do I need to pay for this insurance?

  • No, companions are automatically covered by this public liability insurance upon signing up for the companiions app.

Do I need to take any steps to activate it?

  • No, there's no need for any action to activate this insurance.

What does the policy cover?

  • The policy safeguards you in the unlikely event that you unintentionally cause damage to a third party's property or injury to a third party while engaged in a visit booked and underway via the companiions app. It does not extend to accidental injuries sustained by the companion themselves.

What is the coverage amount?

  • Individual claims (or a series of claims stemming from the same incident) are covered up to a maximum liability of £1 million.

Does it cover injury or damage to me or my belongings?

  • This insurance pertains solely to injuries and damages that you accidentally inflict on someone else, not to yourself or your possessions.

What if the damage incurred is valued at less than £250?

  • In instances where the value falls below the payable excess, it's not advisable to lodge a claim with the insurance. Instead, please reach out to our team at support@companiions.com for further guidance.

What if I dispute the claim?

  • Claim Handlers possess expertise in investigating claims and assessing their validity. They meticulously review evidence and reports from both parties before reaching a decision on the claim's validity. It's crucial to promptly report the incident and provide accurate information during discussions.

What is "The Excess"?

  • The excess refers to the amount that the insured party must contribute towards a successful insurance claim, which is a standard feature of various insurance policies. Under this policy, the excess for a companion on a successful claim is £250.

What if I want to cancel the insurance?

  • This insurance is automatically extended to all companions utilising the companiions app. If you opt to close your companiions account, the insurance coverage will be terminated.

Where can I obtain the complete policy document?

  • To access the comprehensive policy document, kindly email support@companiions.com to request a Certificate of Insurance.
