When it comes to your first visit, we know that organisers sometimes feel a little nervous about what’s expected of them and how everything will go. We’ve put together some top tips for you to follow when booking your first visit:

Check in with your Companion beforehand. Communication is always key to making both you and the Companion feel comfortable. Sending them a quick message to say hi via the in-app chat tool as it’s a great way to break the ice!

Share your expectations. Companions love to know in advance what you'll need them to do on a visit, so if you have any specific requirements be sure to share them beforehand. If your Companion is supporting a loved one, let them know a bit about them – it helps them come prepared.

Keep them updated. Running late is usually fine – and sometimes unavoidable. Companions are typically adaptable and may be open to extending their availability for activities such as childcare visits. However, they genuinely value your timely notification whenever possible.

We hope that these tips helped, and that you’re looking forward to a great visit ahead. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us through the in-app Live Chat or drop us an email at support@companiions.com.
